Virginia Rowley Over

1921-2010 BENNINGTON Virginia Rowley Over, 88, died Thursday, May 27, at Crescent Manor Care Center, following a 15 year struggle with Alzheimer's disease.

Born Dec. 17, 1921, in Greenville, Pa., she was known to her friends as "Gingy" and to her grandchildren as "Ma Ma Gingy". With her husband, Art, she moved to Vermont from Pittsburgh, Pa., in 1970, and built a house on Stratton Mountain where they enjoyed being part of the year-round community.

Gingy served on the town of Stratton Select Board. In 1990 they moved to Dorset, where she enjoyed gardening and playing golf at Ekwanok.

Gingy was educated at Hathaway Brown School in Cleveland, Ohio, and at Connecticut College in New London, Conn.

She is predeceased by Art, her husband of nearly forty years; her son, John Thomas Morris Jr. of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a grandson, E. Tyler Morris of Pittsburgh; and a brother, James Mathers Rowley of Middleburg, Va.

She leaves her daughter, Marny Morris Krause and her husband, Doug, of Bennington; her son, Edward Rowley Morris and his wife, Bonnie, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

MEMORIAL NOTICE: A memorial service will be held in Greenville, Pa., at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are under the dircetion of the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME.
