Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Walter R. LaFlamme, 82, a resident of Sawmill Road, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008.

Mr. LaFlamme was born in Peru on April 15, 1925, the son of the late Benjamin and Edna (Emerson) LaFlamme. He grew up in the Rutland area, where he received his education. During World War II, he worked as a civilian for the Army.

He married the former Olympia Palmiere in Boston on March 18, 1947. Mrs. LaFlamme died June 28, 2001. Prior to relocating to Bennington they had resided in Naugatuck, Conn., for over 40 years, where he had worked for the Timex Corp. Mr. LaFlamme loved the out of doors, especially hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by four sons, Raymond LaFlamme, Benjamin LaFlamme and Kerry LaFlamme, all of Bennington, and Anthony LaFlamme of Kentucky; a daughter, Cynthia Nardella of Branford, Conn.; a brother, Guy LaFlamme of Hudson Falls, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a brother, James LaFlamme.

Services will be held at a later date.
