EAGLE BRIDGE Walton J. Eddy, 88, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, April 23, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Margaret Ann Arcuri Eddy. A lifelong resident of Eagle Bridge, Walton was the son of George P. and Flora Campbell Eddy. He attended Hoosick Falls High School and married Margaret on Dec. 11, 1949. Walton worked the family farm for many years. He was also employed at Troy Belting, Wood Flong, and Oak Mitsui, from which he retired in 1990. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, card playing, and raising strawberries. Along with his devoted wife of 64 years, he is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Linda M. and Jerry Hutchins of Eagle Bridge and Jayne E. and Jon Ortiz of Tustin, Calif.; six grandchildren, Eric and Kristin Hutchins, Kari Higley, Traci Carelli, Branyn and Alyssa Bollman; a great-granddaughter, Isla Claire Higley; three sisters, Lois Brown, Marjorie Sweet, and Janet Moses, and many nieces, nephews, and their families. He is predeceased by a daughter, Sandra E. Carelli, who died in 2002, and four siblings, Ernest, Harvey, and Raymond Eddy, and Doris Sprague. FUNERAL NOTICE: Friends and relatives are invited to call on Sunday, April 27, 2014, from 3 to 5 p.m. at ACKLEY ROSS FUNERAL HOME, 73 West Main Street, Cambridge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Church, 17 S. Park Street, Cambridge, on Monday, April 28, 2014, at 10 a.m. Burial will be private at Center White Creek Cemetery. For those wishing to remember Walton in a special way, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Cambridge Valley Rescue Squad, 37 Gilbert Street, Cambridge, NY 12816 or to the volunteer fire department of your choice.
