Wendy Bartholomew King

1968 - 2015 CARMEL, IND. Wendy Bartholomew King, daughter of Jeffrey and Katherine Bartholomew, passed away Sunday, April 19, after a long battle with MS with her family at her side at the Carmel Care Rehabilitation Center. Wendy was born in Belleview Maternity Hospital, Niska-yuna, N.Y. Sept. 22, 1968. Wendy was a graduate of Queens-bury High School Class of 1986. Queensbury, N.Y. While in Queensbury, she played viola for the local symphony orchestras. Wendy went on to graduate from Riverside Aeronautical School., She was employed by Pratt Whitney Aircraft in Hartford, Conn. While employed at Pratt and Whitney, she received a scholarship to engineering school in Connecticut, from which she graduated. Her career brought her to Minneapolis, Minn., then to an administrative position for Northwest Airlines, in Detroit and Minneapolis. Wendy married aviation classmate, Scott King. Wendy is survived by her husband, Scott King of Alexandria Bay, N.Y.; Michael Joseph King of Carmel, Ind.; Olivia Katherine King of Carmel, Ind.; and Nicholas Scott King of Alexandria Bay, N.Y. Wendy began her 17 year struggle with Multiple Sclerosis, and retired to stay at home and concentrate on her family. She was an inspiration to many others to not give up. A Celebration of Wendy's life will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 24, in LEPPERT MORTUARY, SMITH-CARMEL CHAPEL, where a gathering will be two hours prior to the time of the funeral.
