Willard S. Taylor

1932 - 2014 BENNINGTON Willard S. Taylor, 81, a resident of Fillmore Street, died peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. Born in Danby, Aug. 22, 1932, he was the son of the late Oakley and Marion (Perry) Taylor. Willard received his early education in Danby, was a 1950 graduate of Rutland High School and later attended agriculture school in Randolph, prior to enlisting in the U. S. Army. Willard married the former Loretta Goodermote in Cherry Plain, N.Y. on June 7, 1958. Mrs. Taylor died March 10, 2009. In earlier years, Willard was employed at H. Greenberg & Son and later at W.H. Morse Construction Company until the time of his retirement. Willard was a member of American Legion Post 13. He enjoyed playing Bingo and card games. Survivors include his four children, Jeffrey, Lisa, James and Wanda; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife, Willard was predeceased by a great-grandson and a sister and brother. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the MAHAR SON FUNERAL HOME, Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at 2 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home, Friday, from 12 until the time of the service. Burial will take place in the family lot in the Berlin Community Cemetery in the spring. Should friends desire, memorial contributions in Willard S.
