Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for William A. Houran were held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Monday, April 3, 2006, with the Rev. Anita Schell Lambert, rector of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, officiating.

Hymns offered during the service included “The Old Rugged Cross,” “Rock of Ages” and “Nearer My God To Thee.”

Bearers were Robert and Joseph Houran and Donald and Eric Harvey.

Burial took place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery with Mother Schell Lambert offering the committal prayers.

Mr. Houran, a resident of Beech Street, died March 29, 2006, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation.

Mr. Houran is survived by a brother, Forrest Houran. He was predeceased by a sister, Medora Hyde, and four brothers, Vernet, Charles, Edward and Lawrence Houran.

Following the funeral service, a reception of remembrance of Mr. Houran was held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
