1939 - 2015 BENNINGTON William E. Bull, Jr. age 75, a resident of Dewey Street died on Saturday morning, October 31, 2015 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY following a long illness. He was born in Bennington on November 29, 1939 and was the son of the late William Earl and Margaret (Clark) Bull, Sr. He received his education in local schools. He proudly served in the Navy from 1956 until 1960. William married the former Susan Barber on June 6, 1959. Mrs. Bull has predeceased him. William loved to tinker with cars and lawn mowers, as we fondly called it, "fixing things that weren't broke". He enjoyed being with his family and playing poker. His favorite saying while indulging in a friendly game of poker was "I have a hand like a foot" He enjoyed listening to the Old Country Music and sitting in his rocker on the front porch and people watching. William is survived by his four children: Lisa Eames-Buchanan and her husband, Kevin of Bennington, with whom he had resided, Kimberly Leonard and her husband, Jeff of Bennington, Sarah Bull and her companion, Jess Bouchard of Pownal, VT and William W. Bull of Pownal, VT. He leaves seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Other survivors include his sister, Patricia Lipscomb and her husband, Charlie, one sister-in-law Sylvia Bull and several nieces and nephews. William is predeceased by a brother, Patrick Bull and his sister, Beverly Bull Volkmer. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at the North Pownal Congregational Church at 12p.m. with the Reverend Gary Rogers, officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, where military honors will be offered. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 11a.m. until the time of the service.
