William R. Douglas 1947-2011 HOOSICK, NY William R. Douglas 64, passed away on Thursday, November 3 at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, N.Y. He resided on Route 22 in Hoosick with his wife Marilyn (Keyes) Douglas. Bill was born on August 4, 1947 in Cambridge, N.Y., son of Ceola (Groesbeck) Wilson. He graduated from Cambridge Central School and attended Hudson Valley Community College. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving form 1967 - 1973 and in Vietnam. Bill was employed by New York State as Superintendent of Construction, in the Office of General Services. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 634 in Cambridge, NY, where he was also a past commander. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, was an avid Yankee and Patriot fan and faithfully watched their games with the family dog Murphy at his side. Survivors other than his wife Marilyn include his daughters Monica Larrabee (Robert) of Frisco, Colo., and grandson Robert Chester Larrabee, Erin Douglas of Denver, Colo., sister Terry Weir of Salem, N.Y., brother Jack Douglas of Eagleville, N.Y., and several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be Monday November 7, at 10 a.m. from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Burial with Military Honors will be at 12 p.m. Monday at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Academy through the funeral home.
