HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- William J. “Foxy” “Golden” Fox Jr., 56, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003 at the Hoosick Falls Health Center. He resided in North Hoosick with his wife Jeannie (Wolters) Fox.

He was born Sept. 23, 1947 in Bennington, Vt. son of Susan (Bevis, Fox) Parker of Florida and the late William J. Fox Sr.

He graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1967 and attended SUNY Plattsburgh. He owned and operated several area restaurants including Golden’s and Foxy’s Place. He was a popular bartender in the area for years. Bill and his wife Jeannie, owned and operated Foxy’s Antiques in North Hoosick for the past 13 years. He ran the kitchen at the Danforth Adult Home in Hoosick Falls for the 14 years. In his youth Bill was an altar boy at the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls and was a member of the Hoosick Falls Elks Lodge No. 178.

Survivors other than his devoted wife Jeannie and mother Susan include a son, Gregory J. Fox of North Hoosick; a step-daughter Georgette Yakman of Virginia; two grandchildren, Emily and Nathan Hjulstrom both of Virginia.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main St. in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 9 a.m. until the start of the service.

A gathering will follow at the Immaculate Conception Church Hall following the services at the cemetery.
