PETERSBURGH, N.Y. -- William M. Wesley, 61, of East Hollow Road, died on Sunday, May 1, 2005, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Pittsfield, Mass. on Jan. 28, 1944, he was the son of the late Harold and Madeline A. Powell Wesley. Bill was the loving husband of the former Jane E. Stevens. They were married in Petersburgh on Aug. 23, 1986.

Mr. Wesley was a 1961 graduate of Pittsfield High School. He worked as a self-employed roofer before entering the United States Army in 1965. He completed training as a pharmacy specialist and was honorably discharged on Aug. 29, 1967. After serving his country, Bill continued in his construction business until opening Wesley Adult Home in Petersburgh with his wife in 1996. They sold the business in 2001. Mr. Wesley enjoyed his grandchildren, building bird houses and was an avid reader.

Survivors include his wife Jane E. Wesley; his children, Wendy (Michael Granger) Weaver, Debra (Louis) Hoffman and Dana Wesley all of Petersburgh; his siblings, Neil H. Wesley, Betty A. Clemons and Judith L. Clary all of Pittsfield; Marian A. Burzimati of Florida along with his grandchildren Joshua, Tyler and Sadie Jayne Hoffman; and Katlyn Weaver.

Funeral services will be on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh, where the Rev. Rich Neisen will officiate. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Meadowlawn Cemetery on Hewitt Road, Petersburgh. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. for visitation.
