Obituary Condolences

MANCHESTER CENTER -- William P. Shattuck, 82, of Cass Terrace in Manchester Center, died Sunday evening, Aug. 15, 2004, at Crescent Manor Care Centers in Bennington.

He was born in Winhall on Oct. 6, 1922, a son of Harry and Ruth (Ross) Shattuck, and attended local schools.

He was a truck driver for many years and enjoyed gardnening and his cat, Jessie. He loved being at home, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Lia (Zandy) Shattuck; his daughter Mary Caldwell and her husband Garth Caldwell of Manchester; three brothers, Robert and Henry Shattuck of Bondville and Harold Shattuck of Hampton, N.Y.; two sisters, Eunice Squires of Arlington and Lila Hall of Jamaica; two grandsons, Dale Caldwell of Charlotte and Christopher Caldwell of Wynantskill, N.Y.; and he was excited in anticipation of the arrival of his fourth great-grandchild.

At the request of the family, funeral services will be private. There will be an open house for a time of fellowship at Mr. Shattuck’s home from 12 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19.
