Obituary Condolences

SANDGATE -- Memorial services for William Parkes Henry were held Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005, at the United Methodist Church in Sandgate. The Rev. David J. Bort conducted the service. Music was under the direction of organist Joan W. Bort, who led the congregation in the singing of the hymns “This Is My Father’s World,” “Hymn Of Promise,” “Come, Let Us Join,” and “Onward Christian Soldiers.” Chaplain Fred Sheldon of the American Legion Post 69, Arlington, conducted military prayers. Capt. Miles Trudell and Sgt. Leo Carvey from the Vermont Army National Guard and the Rutland Honor Guard presented the American flag to Mr. Henry’s son Bill. Carl Graves sounded taps. A time of fellowship and refreshments was held following the services in the Briggs Room.

William Parkes Henry, a resident of Sandgate, died Aug. 18, 2005, at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington.
