BENNINGTON -- William Richard Tobin, 84, a resident of Bowen Road in Bennington, died peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at the Centers For Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington.

William was born in Dorset on Dec. 28, 1922 the son of Robert C. and Bessie (McWayne) Tobin, and received his education in North Bennington schools. William was employed as a factory worker for Sibley for many years, retiring in 1970.

William is survived by his daughter, Priscilla LaFountain, of Westford; his brother; Robert Tobin of North Bennington; and his sister, Charlotte Parks of Dorset. He was pre-deceased by five brothers, Frederick, Ivan, Floyd, Henry and Donald Tobin and his sister, Margaret Hall.

Funeral services for William will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, at 5:30 p.m. at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home 213 West Main St., Bennington. Interment will be in the family lot in Maple Hill Cemetery in Dorset, Vermont. There are no visiting hours.
