BENNINGTON -- William Richard Tobin, 84, a resident of Bowen Road in Bennington, died peacefully Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 16, 2007, at the Centers For Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington.

William was born in Dorset on Dec. 28, 1922, the son of Robert C. and Bessie (McWayne) Tobin and received his education in North Bennington schools. William was employed as a factory worker for Sibley for many years, retiring in 1970. William is survived by his brother, Robert Tobin, of North Bennington and his sister, Charlotte Parks, of Dorset. He was pre-deceased a daughter, Priscilla Mae LaFountain, who died March 25,1998; Five brothers, Frederick, Ivan, Floyd, Henry and Donald Tobin and his sister, Margaret Hall.

Funeral services for William were held on Oct. 23, 2007, at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home. Interment was in the family lot in Maple Hill Cemetery in Dorset. There are no visiting hours.
