HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- Wilma R. Snyder, 89, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center, where she has resided since 2001. She formerly resided in Eagle Bridge and was the wife of the late Ward N. Snyder.

She was born on Aug. 19, 1915 in Manchester, Vt., daughter of the late Loren and Lillian (Quackenbush) March. Wilma was educated at schools in Hoosick Falls and worked at the H.P. Hood Company in Eagle Bridge until retiring in 1977. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Hoosick Falls. Wilma and Katrine “Tiny” Farrara were the Eagle Bridge “Tiny and Wilma Hotline,” the source of all the happenings in the Eagle Bridge area.

Survivors include a son, James Snyder and his wife Sarah of Eagle Bridge; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Bushee, and a son, Robert Snyder.

Funeral services will be private at the request of Wilma from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main St. in Hoosick Falls.

Burial will follow the service at Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hoosick Falls Health Center through the funeral home.
