TROY, N.Y. -- Yvonne I. Blechner, 70, of Third Avenue, beloved wife of the late Edward J. Blechner Jr., entered into eternal life on Saturday, April 14, 2007, at her residence in the loving care of her family.

Born and educated in Bennington, Vt., she was the daughter of the late Eugene D. and Matilda LaFrancis Betit.

Mrs. Blechner was a retired CNA and had been a homemaker.

She was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh and was a member of the Lake Lauderdale Lake Association in Cambridge.

She was the devoted mother of the Yvette Guile (Brian Slider) of Troy, Evelyn Tougas of Mineville, and the late Edward J. “Skip” Blechner, III.; loving grandmother of Cassandra Tougas of Glens Falls, Danielle Tougas of Mineville and the late Timothy Slider; sister of Clarence Betit (Marion) of Chesapeake, Va., Theresa Boutin, Louise Johnson, Rose Brown (Robert) all of Bennington, Vt., and the late Gilbert, Francis and Leo Betit and Antoinette, Eva and Virginia Betit, Adeline Squires and Nancy Clark, sister-in-law of Eva Betit of Virginia Beach, Va., and Joan L’Heureux of Bennington, Vt.; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as her large extended family. Mrs. Blechner’s extended family was large as she was known as “mom” to everyone and leaves behind many “sons” and “daughters.”

Funeral will be held on Thursday morning at 8:45 a.m. from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc. (Corner of 115th Street and Fourth Avenue), Lansingburgh, thence to St. Augustine’s Church, where at 9:30 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.

Interment will be held in St. John’s Cemetery, Troy.

Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to Community Hospice of Rensselaer, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144, in memory of Yvonne I. Blechner.
