Coletta M. Landon

1924 - 2014 BENNINGTON Coletta M. Landon, 89, a resident of the Twin Maples Community Care Home, and formerly of Settlers Road, died on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, following a brief illness. Mrs. Landon was born in Dean, Penn. on May 23, 1924, and was the daughter of the late John D. and Orvetta M. Plunkett Grimes. She was a graduate of the Cresson High School in Pennsylvania. She married Merrill A. Landon Sr. on March 23, 1946, in St. Peter's Church in Rutland by the Reverend Michael DeMasi. Mr. Landon died in 1975. Mrs. Landon had been employed at Mack Molding Company starting on Dec. 15, 1952 until she retired. Mrs. Landon is survived by three children, Linda and Charles Marsh, Merrill and Mary Landon, and Patricia and Larry Moffitt, all of Bennington; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Winifred Dwarok and Elizabeth Hale, and her brother and sister-in-law, Merle and Ruth Grimes, all of Dysart, Penn. Mrs. Landon is predeceased by three children, Judy Landon, Marilyn Lauzon, and Carolyn Van Ness; sisters and brother, Geraldine Grimes, Regina Gibbons, Bernice Grimes, and Telford Grimes, and a grandson, Scott Moffitt. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services and interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
