Virginia M. "Ginny" Pellerin

1929-2014 Virginia M. "Ginny" Pellerin, 84, widow of Leo H. Pellerin, a resident of North Pownal Road, died Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the Vermont Veterans Home following a long illness. Born in Bennington on March 28, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Ray G. and Elizabeth (Shortt) Sweet. In earlier years Ginny was employed at General Cable Company in Pownal and Tansitor Electronics in Bennington. She was a member of Unit 90, American Legion Ladies Auxillary in Pownal. Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth Pellerin of Pownal; three grandchildren, Augustus Guillen (Laura) of Oregon, Max Guillen (Michelle) of Texas and Ruby Guillen-Champagne (Steve) of Bennington; six great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Ginny was predeceased by two brothers, William and John Sweet. FUNERAL NOTICE: Memorial services celebrating the life of Virginia Pellerin will be held from the MAHAR SON FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 7 p.m. Friends are invited to pay respects to the family on Tuesday from 6 p.m. until the time of the service. Private committal services will be held at the convenience of the family at Oak Hill Cemetery in Pownal. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Ginny Pellerin's memory may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
