1931 - 2014 POWNAL Mary Morse, 82, widow of Charles S. Morse Sr., and a longtime resident of Pownal, died Monday, May 5, 2014, at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington. She was born in Bennington, Dec. 3, 1931. Mary received her education in Bennington and was a graduate of Bennington High School. She married Charles S. Morse Sr. in Bennington. Mr. Morse died May 8, 1997. Mary had been employed at various industries in the area and for several years she was employed as a dispatcher for Bushika Sand and Gravel in Cheshire, Mass. Mary enjoyed crocheting and needlework. Survivors include two sons, Charles S. Morse Jr. and his wife, Krystal, of Bennington, and Clifford Morse of Pownal; a daughter, Lucille Launderville and her husband, Russ, of North Bennington; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Lanoue and her husband, Theodore, of Shaftsbury, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Carol A. Haskell. FUNERAL NOTICE: At the request of Mrs. Morse there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
