K. Marion Fowler

1921 - 2014 NORTH POWNAL K. Marion Fowler, 92, wife of Robert E. Fowler, a former resident of North Pownal, died Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Bennington Health & Rehabilitation. Born in Bennington Aug. 18, 1921, she was the daughter of the late George and Katherine Dennin Curran. Bob and Marion were married in Bennington on Nov. 23, 1940, and had been married for over 73 years. In earlier years, Marion served as the soloist in both Bennington and Pownal churches. She was a member of the faculty at Mt. Anthony Union High School where she taught English and Creative Writing. She was a member of the American Association of University Women. Marion loved traveling, reading and teaching poetry. Survivors include her husband, Robert Fowler of Bennington; a daughter, Norma Salter of Connecticut; a son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Madeline Fowler of Bennington; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Saturday, June 7, 2014, at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
