Mary Ann Martinez
1949 - 2014 BENNINGTON Mary Ann Martinez, 64, a resident of School Street, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her family. Mary Ann was born in Kingston, Pa., on Dec. 10, 1949, the daughter of John and Ann (Andruskevich) Butnor. She attended local schools and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from King's College in Wilkes-Barre. Mary Ann was a Spanish teacher and taught in schools in Kingston, Pa., Englewood, Fla., Venice, Fla., Rutland, Vt., Mt Antony Union High School in Bennington, Martha's Vineyard, Mass., and Colchester, Conn. She was very involved with Sacred Heart St. Francis de sales Roman Catholic Church and went beyond the responsibilities of a teacher at Mt. Anthony where she also worked with the Teachers' Union. She enjoyed traveling, listening to Spanish Guitar and was a New England Patriots football fan. Mary Ann is survived by her son, Michael Martinez of Tenafly, N.J.; brother, John Butnor of Kingston, N.Y.; sister, Joan Butnor of Devine, Texas, and her granddaughter, Anna Martinez. Her husband, Jesus Martinez Moso, whom she married in Spain in 1971, died in 1972. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Mass of Christian Death and Burial will be celebrated Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart St. Francis de sales Roman Catholic Church in Bennington. A time of visitation will be held Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at HANSON-WALBRIDGE SHEA FUNERAL, 213 West Main Street, Bennington. Interment will take place in St Mary's Annunciation Cemetery in Kingston, Pa.
