Shirley Ann Baker 1939 - 2011 HOOSICK FALLS, NY Shirley Ann Baker, formerly of Buskirk and Cambridge Woods Apartments in Cambridge, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011. Her loving family was with her at the Hoosick Falls Health Center. Born April 7, 1939, in Cadiz, Ky., she was one of the 11 children of Clarence and Myrtle (Hardin) Stewart. On Nov. 24, 1979, Shirley married H. Bruce Baker and moved to Buskirk. She was a member of the South Cambridge United Methodist Church. Shirley worked at Hair 2000 in Saratoga and as a seamstress at the former Cambridge Lingerie Company. Shirley was a kind and gentle spirited woman. Her passion in life was loving and taking care of her family, including her dogs. She liked cooking and sewing and was very creative. She enjoyed reading, gardening and flowers. Nine siblings and her first husband, Bernard C. Miner, Sr., predeceased her. Along with her husband of 31 years, she is survived by eight children, Janice Richardson (David) of Stillwater, Kayola Seralik of Hudson Falls, Joseph Miner (Tammy) of Auburn, Helen Ives (Daryl) of Hudson Falls, Varney Miner (Pat) of Clifton Park, Sherry Keays (Tom) of Greenwich, Bernie Miner, Jr., of Buskirk, Christopher Miner (Lindsay) of Buskirk; two step-children, Keith Brusco (Robin) of Valley Falls and Angela Oldham of Pownal, Vt.; a brother, Raymond Stewart (Janet) of Cadiz, Ky.; 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: Friends and relatives are invited to call on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at ACKLEY & ROSS FUNERAL HOME, 73 West Main Street, Cambridge, NY. Pastor Dale Hall will conduct the funeral service beginning at 12 PM. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY. The family would like to thank the staff of the Hoosick Falls Health Center and Community Hospice for the lovely care given to Shirley. They request memorial donations be made to Community Hospice, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144.
