1911-2013 NORTH BENNINGTON Anne D. Lowary died peacefully November 24, 2013 at the Center for Living and Rehabilitation. She is a former resident of Taraden in North Bennington. She died of being 102 years old, nothing more. She was born in Osceola Mills, Pa., September 12, 1911, the youngest daughter of Joseph and Mary (Felix) Dancoe. She was a 1929 graduate of Osceola Mills High School and a 1931 graduate of Central Pennsylvania Business College. Until marriage in 1939, she was employed as a secretary for the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. In 1964, she went back to work as an Executive Assistant at Berlex Laboratories in New Jersey, retiring at age 70. She was always a Pennsylvania girl at heart, but for 60 years lived and raised her family in Wayne , N.J. Anne was an avid gardener with the most beautiful flowering shrubs and other flowers thriving in her yard. Her contributions of creativity and time to Girl Scout and Boy Scout projects were invaluable. She was a housewife and mother, married to George C. Lowary for 56 years, who predeceased her in 1995. She is survived by her daughter Patricia L. Hinds, and her husband, James, of Orono, Maine and her son, Robert L. Lowary, and wife, Nannette Lowary, of North Bennington, Vt. She also leaves behind 3 grandchildren: Christopher Hinds of Orono, Maine; Dennis Lowary, of Lebanon, N.J. and Tara Lowary of North Bennington, Vt. Anne was a founding member of the reincarnated WBTN-AM public radio station in Bennington Vermont. A private memorial service will occur at a later date.
