Jaskia "Lillian" Bourn

BENNINGTON -- Jaskia “Lillian” Bourn, 75, a former resident of Airport Road Shaftsbury, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness.

She was born in Rupert on April 28, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Lyman Thomas Tifft and Dolly (Stone) Tifft. Lillian received her education in the Rupert and Bennington Schools.

She married Robert S. Bourn Sr. in Bennington on Nov. 17, 1945.

In earlier years, Lillian was employed at the EZ Mill and Stanley Tools in Shaftsbury, from which she retired.

Her home and family were her main interest. She also enjoyed bingo and crossword puzzles. She loved to have children around her and had raised two of her grandchildren, Danny Gordon and Celisa Pratt.

Survivors include her husband Robert S. Bourn Sr. of Bennington; four children, Margaret Tobin and her fiance Lloyd Wright Sr. of Pownal, Robert Bourn Jr. and his wife Tammy of Shaftsbury, Roberta Kuzawski and her husband Robert of Shaftsbury and Marvin Bourn and his wife Jeanne of Shaftsbury; 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Vollor of Bennington, Alice Colburn of Granville, N.Y. and Shirley Ohan of Las Vegas, Nev.; three brothers, Theodore Tifft and Edward Tifft both of Bennington and Norman Tifft of Pownal; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by two sisters and four brothers, Lorraine Reed, Alberta Dorman, Thomas Tifft, Wallace Tifft, William Baker and Irving Tifft.

The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Tuesday June 1 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Deborah Estey, pastor of the Shaftsbury United Methodist Church, officiating.

The burial will take place in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery Bennington.

Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Tuesday from 11 a.m until the time of the service.
