William David "Bill" Brecht Sr.

William "Bill" David Brecht Sr. enjoyed a childhood as a barefoot boy in upstate New York. He dedicated his adult life to the ministry, transplanting his wife and kids to Colorado, then Louisiana before settling in Magnolia, Arkansas.
When asked, he would tell you he was blessed with six children, 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and adoptive family members whom he prayed for at every opportunity.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Barbara; his parents, Herbert Brecht Sr. and Jessie Brown Brecht; and five siblings Herbert Brecht Jr., Ardith Kolcorn, Barbara Johnson, John Brecht and Richard Brecht.
He is survived by three siblings Irene Hunter, Patricia Chaffin, Darlene Mack; five children, Rena Magee and husband, A.P., Bill Brecht Jr. and wife, Debra, Marcia Elliott, Carol Brecht, Scott Brecht and wife, Lisa Kaye, and Lisa Bass; 11 grandchildren, Amy Magee, Becky Tripp and husband, Andy, Amber Newton, Heather Hawkins, Brittany Brecht, Meagan Brecht, Chelsea Bass, Lindsey Remow and husband, Brent, Hayden Bass, Logan Bass and Jacob Bass.  
He was a lover of God, his family, trains, science fiction and books. He strived to show his family what passion, dedication and abiding love looked like by being a living example.
On May the Fourth, he faded from this world like Yoda. May the force be with him, always.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday May 8, 2018, at Magnolia Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Randy Click officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arkansas Hospice Foundation, located at 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, AR 72116.
