Gisella L. Blake
1928 - 2014 NORTH ADAMS Gisella Louise Piantoni Blake, 85, of 43 Lois St., died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at Williamstown Commons. She was born in Readsboro, Vt. on Dec. 15, 1928, daughter of Agostino and Josephine Morandi Piantoni. She attended schools in Readsboro, including the former Readsboro High School. In her younger years, Gisella worked at the former Readsboro Chair Shop. After moving to North Adams in 1950, she worked at Sprague Electric Co. for about 15 years. Gisella then worked at Williams College in its buildings and grounds department, until her retirement in 1991. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. She enjoyed crafts. Survivors include her husband, John William Blake, whom she married on Oct. 23, 1954, in St. Anthony of Padua Church; her sister, Bruna Vivori and her husband, Gillio, of North Adams and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Gino Louis Piantoni, who died in 1979. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Gisella Blake will be celebrated Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Eastlawn cemetery in Williamstown. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA, are Tuesday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of the Berkshires, St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church or the charity of the donor's choice, in care of the funeral home.
