Katherine Marie Marcella Defaira
1942-2013 Katherine Marie Marcella Defaira, 70, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Fla., after a long illness.
Born on June 16, 1942, in Pittsfield, the daughter of the late Antonio and Marie (Cassella) Marcella, she was a 1960 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School.
She and her family moved to Fort Myers, Florida, in 1973, where she was employed by the Ohio Medical Company and by the Shell factory there.
Katherine is survived by her three loving sons, James (wife Deborah), Joseph (wife Jeanette), and J. Antoinio; and her beloved grandchildren, Antonio and Helen Defaira, and Ricky and Brian Ivy. She is also survived by her brothers, Anthony Marcella (wife Saundra) and Ronald Marcella (wife Mary Ann), and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Katherine was pre-deceased by her sister, Mary, her brother Francis, and sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Kenneth Shook.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service for Katherine Marie Marcella Defaira will be held Monday, February 4, in Cape Coral, Florida. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in June. The DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of local arrangements.
