Susan Mary Roche Knuffke
1950-2014 Susan Mary (Roche) Knuffke, 63, died at her home in Pittsfield, on March 16th following a year long battle against cancer. Susan was born in Beverly, Mass., on October 4, 1950 daughter of the late Cynthia T. (McAuley) Roche and Joseph T. Roche, who currently resides in Deerpark, N.Y. Both parents were born in Boston, Mass. Susan graduated from HVRHS in Conn., class of '68. She was employed by Becton-Dickerson in Canaan, Conn until her retirement in December of 2012. Her marriage to Frank Knuffke, Jr. ended in divorce. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Christopher and Leisha Knuffke of Hudson, N.Y. One sister, Marcia (Roche) Koerner and her finace, Ken Wolle, both of Westminster, Md. Also surviving Susan are several loving stepsisters/stepbrothers in New York and her Aunt Helen Barker and cousins in California During her lifetime, Susan enjoyed knitting, gardening and completing home improvements to her much cherished house. She found much pleasure in spending vacations with family on the Connecticut beaches, Maine coast and an especially memorable trip to Tahiti in 2001. Susan is remembered by friends/family as being a kind, compassionate and happy person who knew what she wanted and who enjoyed her independence. She will be missed but will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. As per Susan's wishes, there will be no formal service following her cremation. The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made by making a donation in her name to: HospiceCare in the Berkshires, 877 South Street, #1W, Pittsfield, MA 01201
