Grigoropoulos, Christos  
Christos Grigoropoulos LENOX Christos Grigoropoulos died on April 22nd at his summer estate in the family village of Alevrou, Sparta/Greece. He was 75 years old. Mr. Grigoropoulos was the son of olive grove farm owners, Spiros and Dimitra Grigoropoulos of Alevrou, Greece. He is survived by his wife, Athena Grigoropoulos of Lenox; son, Spiro C. Grigoropoulos of Lenox; daughter, Demi Schimenti and grandson, Matthew Christopher Schimenti of Fairfield County, Connecticut. Also, two sisters of Berkshire County, Angel Arlos and Julia Vlahopoulos; two brothers, George Grigoropoulos of Alevrou, Greece and Peter Grigoropoulos of Melbourne, Australia. Additionally, he is survived by 11 nieces, ten nephews and two god-daughters. Mr. Grigoropoulos worked in the furniture trade as a craftsman in Athens, Greece and later moved to Melbourne, Australia where he met his wife, Athena. The family relocated to Massachusetts in the late 60's where Mr. Grigoropoulos began his entrepreneurial career as a carpenter, restaurateur and business real estate developer. In addition to his business career, Mr. Grigoropoulos enjoyed spending time with his family in the Berkshires, visiting Saratoga and Connecticut. In Greece, he also enjoyed dancing, gardening, making his own wine, olive oil and spending time at his estiatoria at the base of Taygetus mountain. He felt passionately about sharing his family history and personal knowledge of life experiences. A life member of St. George Greek Church of Lakonias/Greece, he was known for his fun-loving, gregarious wit and for his generosity in local communities. Funeral arrangements will be held at his birthplace in Alevrou, Greece. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lenox Public Schools [Walker Fund] and The Taft School of Watertown, Connecticut.

Gravel, Charles  
Charles Gravel Charles Laurence Gravel passed on peacefully at home surrounded by his immediate family. Born in Bennington, VT., Charlie was predeceased by his parents, Charles Leo and Millicent (Sanford) Gravel. Second only to his family was his love of music. He was an accomplished musician of multiple instruments across various genres. A member of Pinecone, the Piedmont Council of Traditional Music, since 1997, he served in various offices as well as President from 2009-2011. A graduate of Boston University, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and an MBA from Capella University, he was a Mid-Range System Director/Supervisor at the College Foundation of North Carolina and various health insurance companies. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dorothy (Ryczek) Gravel and their two sons, Charles Luke and Henry Randolph Gravel, sisters; Marsha Altemus of Ashley Falls, MA. and Nadine Hottat of St. Mary, Jamaica as well as several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Dr. Dennis Jacokes for his guidance, Dr. Nirav Dhruva and the wonderful staff at Rex Oncology as well as Joan Bruno and Kellaun Lindsy of Transitions Hospice. At Charlie's request, there will be no services but he asked that memorial donations be made to the Jimmy Fund in Boston or St. Jude's Hospital to help in the care of children with cancer and in support of their families.
