Welanetz, Janet  
Janet Welanetz WILLIAMSTOWN Janet Cooper Welanetz, resident of Williamstown, MA from 1950 to 1999, died peacefully on August 20th among friends and family at the Carolina Meadows retirement community in Chapel Hill, NC. She was 93. Janet was born in Elizabeth NJ, raised in Roselle, NJ, and attended Greenbrier College in Virginia, where she met her future husband. Janet and Peter Welanetz began nearly 60 years of a loving marriage in 1943. She supported Peter through his WWII service, engineering school at Lehigh University, and his long career in physical plant management at Williams College. They moved to Williamstown in 1950, and raised two sons, Peter and Robert. They were longtime, active members of the Taconic Golf Club. Janet was a member of the First Congregational Church, the Williamstown Garden Club, and volunteered for many years reading for the blind and working at the former Women's Exchange. Janet and Peter moved to NC in 1999; Janet continued to live and serve her community there after Peter's death in 2002. She is survived by her two sons and their families: Peter C. and Barbara Welanetz, 2612 W. Knox St, Durham, NC; and grandson Kristopher; and Robert F. and Karen Welanetz, 4700 Jett Rd, Atlanta NW, GA, and grandsons, Colby, Jack and Parker. SERVICES: A memorial celebration of her life will be held at Carolina Meadows (CM) on September 14th and her remains will be interred with her beloved late husband, Peter P. Welanetz, in a private family ceremony in the Williams College cemetery. Donations in Janet's memory may be made to the First Congregational Church in Williamstown.

Neil H. Wesley 1937 - 2015 PITTSFIELD Neil H. Wesley, 78, passed away at home on August 15th, after a long illness. Survivors include his wife, Brenda L. Wesley (McClellan), daughter, Lorraine Fernandes of Acushnet, MA, sons, David Wesley and Neil Wesley, step-daughters, Glory Zuber and Holly Pompi all of Pittsfield, three sisters, Betty Clemons of Pittsfield, Judy Clary of Adams and Marian Burzimati of Hinsdale, also many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also predeceased by a brother, William Wesley. There are no calling hours.
