Carol Fraval Obituary

Carol E. Fraval 1946 - 2009 PITTSFIELD Carol E. Fraval, 62, of 23 Harvard St., died Thursday evening at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 20, 1946, daughter of Elizabeth Harrison Ludbrook and the late Allan S. Ludbrook, she was a 1964 graduate of Pittsfield High School and also completed the Cosmetology program at Pittsfield High School. Ms. Fraval worked as a hairdresser for many years and later as a Certified Nursing Assistant at both Springside of Pittsfield and Fairview Commons in Great Barrington. A lifelong resident of Pittsfield, she was a former communicant of both St. Charles Church and the former Mount Carmel Church. She enjoyed arts and crafts and taking trips to the casinos. Carol's grandchildren were the love of her life. Besides her mother of Pittsfield, she leaves two daughters, Tina Chapman and her husband Michael, of East Lake, Fla., and Teresa McClary and her husband Alton, of Pittsfield, two sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Thayer of Pittsfield and Cynthia "Cindy" Hatch of Washington, Mass., two brothers, Richard Ludbrook of Tampa, Fla., and David Ludbrook of N.C., four grandchildren, Corey Fraval, Patrick Ruscetta and Matthew and Jordan Chapman, two step grandchildren, Alton Jr. and Aiden McClary and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at the Carl J. and Ruth Shapiro Cardiovascular Center for their professional and caring treatment. FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service for Carol Fraval will be Sunday May 3, 2009 at 4 p.m. at the DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St, Pittsfield, conducted by the Rev. A. Peter Gregory, pastor of St. Charles Church. Calling hours at the funeral home will precede the service from 2 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carl J. and Ruth Shapiro Cardiovascular Center at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Check's made payable to Brigham and Women's Hospital care of the Dwyer Funeral Home in her memory.

Please accept my condolences in the loss of your Mother. I worked with her many years ago when you girls were quite young. She was a good friend who taught me a lot and had a great sense of humor. I think about her often and will miss her but realize she is in a better place now.
