Alfred B. Ryan

1937- 2012 ADAMS Mr. Alfred B. Ryan, 75, of 214 Columbia St. Adams, died Thursday evening, October 11, 2012, at Williamstown Commons.

He was born in Adams on June 27, 1937, a son of the late Alfred and Irene (Suprenant) Ryan, and attended Adams schools. He served with the US Army for three years, from 1955 until his Honorable Discharge in 1958.

Mr. Ryan last worked at General Electric Co. in Pittsfield, until retiring in 1977 due to illness. Earlier, he had worked at the former Arnold Print Works and Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. in Adams.

He was a communicant of the Parish of Blessed John Paul in Adams. He was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and also enjoyed music and dancing.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, the former Genevieve Witkowski, whom he married on July 14, 1956; three sons, John Ryan and his wife, Karen; James Ryan and his wife, Kelly; and David Ryan, all of Adams; a daughter, Elizabeth Dellaghelfa and her husband, Alan, of Adams; two brothers, Gilbert Ryan of North Adams; and David Ryan of Cheshire; four sisters, Eleanor Hobart, Bernice Wright, Jo Anne Biron and Katherine Biron, all of Adams; 10 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held on Thursday, October 18th, at 9 a.m. from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of Blessed John Paul, Adams.

Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.

Calling hours are Wednesday, Oct. 17th, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St. Springfield, MA 01104
