Charles F. Taylor

1934 - 2013 PITTSFIELD Charles F. Taylor, 78, of 12 Curtis Terrace, died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born on Sept. 21, 1934, in Pittsfield, he was a son of Harry and Helen Muller Taylor. A lifelong resident of Pittsfield, he was educated in Pittsfield schools.

He served his country in the United States Army.

He had been employed as a truck driver for over 50 years, having worked for County Concrete and other area contractors. He also worked at Pittsfield Roofing at one time. He retired in 2009.

He enjoyed TV movies, baseball and fishing with his brothers. He was a longtime Red Sox fan and also coached youth baseball for many years.

He leaves five daughters, Penny Taylor Stockley of Pittsfield and Gail, Candy, Tammy and Tanya Taylor, all of Pittsfield; five brothers, Robert Taylor of Colorado, Richard, John and Ernest Taylor of Pittsfield, and Peter Taylor of South Carolina; three sisters, Frances Forfa and Martha Ferguson, both of Pittsfield, and Mary Lou Lefebvre of Florida, 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Joseph C. Taylor, who died in 2006; by a brother, Michael A. Taylor, and by his former wife, Florence Barton Stone.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services and burial for Charles F. Taylor, who died May 3, 2013, will be private at his request. There will be no calling hours.
