Chester A. Harrison
19312013 ADAMS Mr. Chester Albert Harrison, 81, of 46 Notch Rd. Adams, died on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Craneville Place, Dalton.
He was born in Colchester, Vt. on March 4, 1931, a son of the late Charlie and Mary (Frodyma) Harrison. He attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams High School. He had also attended the DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago.
Mr. Harrison was a Veteran of the Korean War
, having served as a Sergeant in the Second Indian Head Division of the United States Army
. He received his Honorable Discharge on May 27, 1952.
Mr. Harrison worked as an independent truck driver for most of his life and had also worked as an electronics technician for General Electric Co., Pittsfield.
He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire. He was a member of the Adams Post 160 American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Evelyn Kuczynski, whom he married on June 19, 1954; one son, Paul Harrison of Cheshire; two daughters, Kathleen Smith and her husband William of Whately and Suzanne Rougeau and her husband Gary of Lanesboro; three grandchildren, Timothy Rougeau and his wife Sarah of Adams, Renee Rougeau of Austin, Texas and Zachary Smith of Whately.
He was predeceased by his brother, Charles Harrison.
FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be on Friday, February 8, at 8:45 a.m. from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire, celebrated by Rev. David R. Raymond, Pastor.
Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
Calling hours are Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests the omission of flowers and suggests memorial donations be made to the Berkshire Humane Society, 214 Barker Road, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
