1925 - 2014 CHESHIRE Dorothy A. Buda, 88, of 2 East View Dr., wife of the late Bruno Buda, passed away suddenly at her home on May 1, 2014. Born in Adams on Nov. 17, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Hilda Frese Varno. She attended Adams schools including the former Notre Dame Elementary School and was employed with the former Berkshire Hathaway Co. in Adams, the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams, and the Ordinance Division of the General Electric Co. in Pittsfield. Dorothy was a long time communicant of the former Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church in Adams. She is survived by a daughter, Hilda Carson and her husband, William Bowers, of Kapolei, Hawaii; five grandchildren, Alfred Brassard of Sheffield, Mass., Christina Carson of Pearl City, Hawaii, Dawn Marie Margraf of Sandisfield, Mass., Dorothy-Anne Derck of Hemet, Calif., and Lynn Anne Perkinson of San Clemente, Calif.; six great-grandchildren, Lillian Aney, Samantha Brassard, James and Paul Margraf, and Krieg and Kortni Patrick, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Haskell, and an adopted son, Richard Yakey. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Dorothy will take place Saturday, June 14, 2014, at 12 p.m. in St. John Paul II Parish in Adams, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, Pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours from the TROTTER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
