Dorothy J. "Dody" Brady
1970-2014 LANESBOROUGH Dorothy J. "Dody" Brady, 44, of Lanesborough passed away June 15, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Bennington, Vt., February 11, 1970, the daughter of William and Alberta Moody Till, she was a 1988 graduate of Taconic High School. While there she was a member of the cheerleading squad. Dody was employed for the last six years by Nuclea Biotechnologies, a cancer research and Biomarker discovery firm as their Director of Human Resources. Previously she was the Food and Beverage Manager at Jiminy Peak with the Boston Concessions Group for 16 years. Dody was very active in the Berkshire County Relay for Life serving as the Logistics Chair of the Core Committee. She was also active in the Jimmy Fund, and was a Board Member of the Moments House, and was an active member of the Northway Church. She was named the City of Pittsfield's Unsung Heroine in 2014. Besides her parents of Windsor, she leaves her daughter, Pyper Morgan Forfa at home; her brothers, Patrick Brady of Windsor and Thomas Brady, her sister, Nanette Pelkey and her husband David of Crown Point, N.Y., and her step brother, Michael Till and his wife, Gaynor of Richmond. She is also survived by her nephews and their families, David and Rachel Pelkey and their children, Corrine, Andrew, Lydia, Isaiah, Benny, and Daniel, Aaron and Paula Pelkey and their children, Walton, Brady, & Dorothy all of Crown Point, N.Y., Brian and Catherine Pelkey and their son Henry of Paul Smith, N.Y., and Michael Senior and his son Jesus of Pittsfield. FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Dorothy J. "Dody" Brady will be held today, June 16, 2014 from 4 until 7 p.m. and tomorrow, June 17, 2014 from 3 until 6 p.m. at the DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. Burial will be private. A celebration of her life will be held at a time and date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to Lisa K.
