Emma A. Bailey

Emma A. Bailey, 70, of 35 Ocean St., Lanesboro, died Monday, May 10, 2004, at her home. Death followed a long illness.
Born in North Adams on Nov. 25, 1933, she was the daughter of Joseph and Amelia (Bertozzi) Maggioli. She attended North Adams schools and graduated from Drury High School.
She was employed by the Sprague Electric Co., North Adams, for eight years, following her graduation from high school. Most of her life she was a homemaker.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, Pittsfield.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, fishing and the outdoors.
She leaves her husband, Ralph E. Bailey Jr., whom she married Feb. 11, 1961, in St. Anthony of Padua Church, North Adams; two sons, John J. Bailey and Steven R. Bailey, both of Cheshire; a daughter, Diane M. Bailey of Lanesboro; a sister, Josephine LaCombe of Malone, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Trevor Bailey, Scott Bailey and Tawnia Bailey; three nieces and a nephew.
Two sisters, Pauline Maggioli and Mary Maggioli, and a brother, Paul Maggioli, are deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Emma Bailey will take place Thursday, May 13, 8 a.m., from the Flynn & Dagnoli-Bencivenga Funeral Home, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Pittsfield, with the Rev. Venance Max Kishe officiating.
Calling hours are today, 5-7 p.m., at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire or St. Joseph’s Church, through the funeral home.
