Francis Joseph Megaro, Jr.

1953-2013 CHESHIRE Mr. Francis Joseph Megaro, Jr., 59, of 1031 Sandmill Rd., Cheshire, died on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Baystate Medical Center after a courageous battle with Lymphoma.

He was born in North Adams on November 22, 1953, son of Jean (Bannish) Dignon and the late Francis J. Megaro, Sr. He attended schools in North Adams and graduated from the former St. Joseph High School, North Adams, with the Class of 1971.

Mr. Megaro last worked as the Assistant Store Manager of Tractor Supply, Pittsfield. He had also worked as an auto mechanic for various car dealerships in Berkshire County.

He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire. He was a former member and past president of the Adams Lions Club. He enjoyed training horses with his friend Roger and his family. His proudest accomplishment was his work with his beloved horse Peanut.

Besides his mother Jean Dignon and her husband James of Pownal, Vt., he is survived by his wife, the former Kristine A. Krzeminski, whom he married on July 17, 1982; three sons, Michael Megaro and his wife Julie of Chesapeake, Va., Colin F. Megaro of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Matthew Megaro of Cheshire; two daughters, Margaret Rose Megaro and Abagail Megaro, both of Cheshire; two sisters, Pamela Megaro Collins and her husband Dennis of Centerville, Mass., and Mary Ellen Holtzman of East Chatham, N.Y.; six grandchildren, two nieces and many foster children he and his wife cared for over the years.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be on Saturday, January 5, at 7:45 a.m. from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire, celebrated by Rev. David R. Raymond, Pastor.

Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Adams.

Calling hours are today, Friday, Jan. 4th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
