Frank Joseph Grassi
1929-2013 NORTH ADAMS Mr. Frank Joseph Grassi, 83, of 86 Catherine Street, North Adams died Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the Williamstown Commons in Williamstown.
He was born in Clarksburg on June 20, 1929 a son of the late Frank and Giovanna (Monegheni) Grassi. He attended schools in North Adams. He joined the military in 1950 serving with the US Army
in Korea. He was a decorated soldier earning a purple heart
Mr. Grassi was employed at General Electric in Pittsfield for many years. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. He was the widower of Marion (Strange) Grassi. She died in 1973.
Survivors include a son, Sterling Grassi, and his wife, Tracy of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Grandchildren, Nicholas and Anthony Grassi, Gina King, Sandy Lloyd, Jamie Stromaiher and Samantha Lloyd and a great grandson- Jaheem Z. Dumpson. He also leaves his companion of over 30 years, Joan Brown.
FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Frank Joseph Grassi will be Monday, February 4, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will be in the spring in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
