George Capitanio

George S. Capitanio

STOCKBRIDGE George S. "Capi" Capitanio, 58, passed away peacefully at his family home with his Mom and sisters by his side on September 11, 2013.As a young man, George worked at Lee Arco as a mechanic and built his GTO (The Gray Ghost) that he raced at Lebanon Valley Speedway. He enjoyed playing with construction toys as a child and watching his grandfather operate his equipment, so it was no surprise that he worked in the construction field as an adult. George operated a repair business and small construction company before he became ill. George also enjoyed Harley Davidson Motor Cycles, riding, building, and repairing them. We all remember Pumpkin, his bright orange H.D. We're sure that all whose lives George touched have many memories and stories to tell, share them with each other, and celebrate the time we had him in our lives. He was predeceased by his father, George S. Capitanio. He is survived by his mother , Elizabeth Williams Capitanio of South Lee; sons, Jereme E. of South Lee, Joshua C. of Pittsfield, Joseph Curtin of Tyringham, and Domenic of Otis; daughters, Nichole Tenney of Vermont, Jessica Scolforo of Blanford; sisters, Florence Pipa-Martin (Dolly) and Cindy Decker; four grandsons, one granddaughter, three nephews, one niece, many cousins and his longtime companion, Laura Jurgens. Honoring George's wishes there will not be any calling hours or services. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
