Henry A. Allison Jr.

Henry A. "Chuck" Allison, Jr.,formerly of Pittsfield, died on March 15, 2014 at the Fauquier Health and Rehabilitation Center in Warrenton, Va. He was ninety years old. He was an electrical engineer in the General Electric Ordnance Division in Pittsfield for more than thirty years. He was born in Norfolk, Virginia. During World War II he served on Destroyers in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater. He graduated from Virginia Tech on the GI Bill. While in Pittsfield, he was active in the General Electric Athletic Association and the Mount Greylock Ski Club. Following his retirement, he moved to Lake Tahoe, Nevada, where he enjoyed skiing, sailing, and golfing. He is remembered for his sharp wit, athletic prowess, and unfailing optimism. He was preceded in death by his wife, June Allison and his son, William Henry Allison. He is survived by his daughters, Sallie Best of Mountain View, Calif., Sue Allison Massimiano of Warrenton, Va., Lee Allison of Incline Village, Nev., and Amy Allison of Dumfries, Va. and by his grandchildren, Adam Best, Allison Best and Julia Allison Massimiano.
