Hildegard Tanguay

1921-2013 ADAMS Hildegard Tanguay, 91, of 4 Hathaway St., died Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the North Adams Regional Hospital.

Born in Germany on November 10, 1921, daughter of the late Gustav and Selma Weissman Kocher she attended schools in Germany. Mrs Tanguay came from a family of eight children and was the only child to come to the U.S., she came to Adams in 1950, after her marriage.

She was employed for many years as a cook in the school cafeterias for the Adams Cheshire Regional School District. Mrs Tanguay was a member of the First Congregational Church in Adams where in her earlier years was very involved in the church as a church Deaconess. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Norbert Tanguay, whom she married on November 16, 1949, two daughters, Brigitte Mendel and Carol LaFleur and her husband Michael, all of Adams, three sisters and four brothers in Germany, four grandchildren, Kevin Mendel, Scott Mendel, Melissa Sudan and Laura LaFleur, five great grandchildren, Anil and Anjali Sudan, Jakob Mendel, Julia and Diana Mendel and several nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Hildegard Tanguay will take place Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 11 a.m. from the TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, with the Rev. Michael Mullani, Pastor of the First Congregational Church in Adams, officiating. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams in the Spring, calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Donations in her memory can be made to the Sweet Brook Care Center Activities Fund in care of the funeral home. .
