1937-2013 DALTON Jane McGirr Johnson, 75, of 150 North Street, Dalton, died Monday, February 25, 2013, at her home.

Born in Concord, N.H., on August 11, 1937, the daughter of Russell B. McGirr and Bernice Stammers McGirr Ingham and William C. Ingham, she was raised and attended schools in Penacook, N.H., and graduated in 1959 from the University of New Hampshire in Durham with a degree in social services. She continued her education and in 1994 earned a master's degree in education from Cambridge College.

Mrs. Johnson had been employed by the Pittsfield Public Schools as Teacher and Assistant Supervisor for the Parent-Child Home Program for thirty years, retiring in June 2001. She had previously worked many years as a social worker in Dalton.

Her husband, Donald E. Johnson, died August 9, 1977.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by a son, Matthew H. Johnson, of Dalton; a grandson, Bradley M. Johnson and a granddaughter, Lauren R. Johnson, both of Canyon Lake, Calif.; a sister, Mary M. Ingham of Kittery, Maine, and a brother, William C. Ingham, Jr., of Concord, N.H.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Jane M. Johnson will be private with burial to be in Ashuelot Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moments House, 194 Fenn Street, Pittsfield. The DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
