Jean Hall Spasyk
1920-2013 MONTPELIER Jean Hall Spasyk, 93, of Independence Green, died Monday morning, October 7, 2013 at the Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin, Vermont. Her family had been at her bedside. Born April 9, 1920 in Rochester, N.Y., she was the daughter of Raymond A. and Anna (French) Hall. She was a graduate of the University of Vermont in Burlington in 1942 with a Bachelor's Degree in Music. On February 22, 1943 she married Army Lt. John J. Spasyk in Burlington, Vt. Most of their married life had been spent in Stowe, Essex Jct. and Cabot, Vt., where John retired as Principal of the Cabot Elementary and High Schools. He died August 19, 1982. Jean had been a second grade school teacher
for many years in Marshfield and Cabot. Survivors include her daughter, Marko Russell of Montpelier; and son, Michael A. Spasyk and his wife, Joan, of Williston; as well as six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Nancy Baldwin of Rochester, N.Y.; her brother, R. Avery Hall of Burlington; and nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband John, she was predeceased by her son, Peter Spasyk. FUNERAL NOTICE: Later inurnment will be made with her late husband in the Columbarium at the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. Per her wishes there are no services planned.
