Joan D. Jozefiak

1932 - 2014 ADAMS Mrs. Joan D. Strzepek Jozefiak, 81, of 3 Myrtle St., Adams, died early Tuesday morning, May 13, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. She was born in Adams on June 19, 1932, a daughter of the late Alec and Sophie Rymarski Strzepek. She attended Adams schools, including St. Stanislaus Kostka School, and graduated from the former Adams High School with the Class of 1949. Mrs. Jozefiak worked as a receptionist for Mid Town Tax Service in Adams for several years. Earlier, she had worked at the former Waverly Fabrics in Adams, and had also volunteered in the Library at St. Stanislaus Kostka School in Adams. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, and was a member of St. Michael's Society, and the Adams High Class of 1949 Reunion Committee. She enjoyed spending much of her time with her grandchildren. Her husband, Casimer "Cider" Jozefiak, whom she married on Feb. 3, 1951, died on April 29, 1983. She is survived by her son, James Jozefiak, and his wife, Pamela, of Adams; two granddaughters, Jennifer Drawec and her husband, Chad, and Dr. Adrienne Jozefiak, all of Adams; two great-grandchildren, Evan and Ella Drawec, of Adams; two brothers, John Strzepek and his wife, Carol, of Arizona, and David Strzepek and his wife, Patricia, of Adams; a sister, Ruby Koczela and her husband, Edward, of Adams, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Jean Jozefiak, on Dec. 29, 1982. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held on Saturday, May 17, at 11 a.m. from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12 p.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.
