Joseph E. Perri Sr

1924-2012 PITTSFIELD Mr. Joseph E. Perri Sr., 88, of 88 Gamwell Avenue, Pittsfield, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield.

He was born in Utica, N.Y., on May 16, 1924 a son of the late Pietro & Sarah (Borelli) Perri and attended schools there and graduated from Pittsfield High School. He was employed by the General Electric Company as a order clerk in the former power transformer department for 42 years and he retired in 1983. He was a veteran of World War II in the United States Navy. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a former member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and its 'Holy Name Society where he was treasurer for 50 years and a former member and treasurer, of the former Mt Carmel Church Wednesday Night Bocce League, at the time of his death he was, the current treasurer of the Central Berkshire Holy Name Society and Dalton American Legion Wednesday Night Bocce League. He was a member of the General Electric Quarter Century Club, Pensioners Club, General Electric Athletic Association for 49 years and he made a Hole in One on September 2010. He enjoyed spending time with his family, Golfing, Bocce, and he was a avid walker. His first wife the former Margaret Hogue died on March 29, 1960

Survivors include his wife the former Lavina "Lee" Gunderson Tesoniero and they were married on July 13, 1963. Three Sons, George Tesoniero, of Hilton Head, S.C., Thomas Tesoniero, Pittsfield, Joseph Perri Jr. and his wife Melissa of Pittsfield. Three Daughters, Denise Marshall and her husband Howard, Diane Casella and her husband Joseph, Barbara Perri all of Pittsfield. He was predeceased by a daughter Robin Perri Lambert who died on September 5, 1990. Also survived by eight Grandchildren, John Wojtkowiak, Melissa Fawcett, Howard & Heather Marshall, Craig Casella, George Tesoniero IV, Christian Tesoniero, Jamaica Perri, four Great Grandchildren, Ashleigh, Evan, Matthew Fawcett, Alannah Dargi a brother-in-law, Robert Hogue and his wife Mimi and several nieces & nephews.

He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters, Samuel, Angelo, Anthony, Perri, Mary Perri, Rose Zampardi.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 8 a.m. from the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME 5 Elm Street Pittsfield, MA. 01201. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker C.S.S. officiating. Entombment will take place at St. Michael the Archangel Chapel Mausoleum, on the grounds of St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday, December 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. Members of the Central Berkshire Holy Name Society will meet at 5:30 p.m.for a prayer service. In lieu of flowers memorial Donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church in care of the funeral home.
