Katharine Z. Wunder

1928-2013 HINSDALE Katharine Z. Kettles Wunder, "Kit", 85, of Hinsdale, MA passed away in Dalton, MA after a long illness, on Saturday, November 9, 2013 with her loving family by her side. Katharine was born on February 19, 1928 in St. Johnsbury, VT to Edgar William Kettles (Morristown, VT) and Evelyn Prudence Sayers Kettles (Concord, VT). Her family later moved to Pittsfield, MA and she was educated in schools here. In the 1960s, she worked at the old Wyandotte Woolen Mill in Pittsfield, MA. In later years, she was a luncheon site director for Elder Services at the Hinsdale Senior Center location, until her retirement. She was a member of Pioneer Valley Live Steamers, Southwick, MA for over 40 years (a train club she loved dearly). At the age of 60, Katharine took classes to learn how to paint; something she had always wanted to do. She especially loved painting scenic pictures. She was an avid watcher of Days of Our Lives, loved cats and playing Bingo. She was a wonderful loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Katharine leaves to cherish her memory, four children: Robert Provencher and wife, Michele ; Ronald Provencher and wife, Brenda; Karry Wells and her husband, Michael, all of Hinsdale, MA; and Kathleen Packard and husband, Ralph, of Payneville, KY. She also leaves nine grandchildren: Aaron, Matthew and Michael Provencher, Melody Marcella, Brandon and Alexis Wells of Hinsdale; Jeffrey Doane, Frankfort, KY; Moriah Kearton and Laura Ledford, Brandenburg, KY. 12 great grandchildren: Victorya, Zachary, Benjamin, Halee, Nicholas, Emalyn, Brady, Manny, Dominic, Aria, Dylan, Austin. She leaves two brothers: Donald Kettles and wife, Paula and Edgar Kettles and wife, Sharron, both of the state of Florida. She was predeceased by her husbands: Phil Wunder, Hank Sultaire, William Litchfield and Robert Provencher; one brother, Franklin Kettles; and two sisters, Charlotte Barscz and Marlene Diehl; and three great grandchildren: Christopher Robert and Cameron Jeffrey Ledford; Ava Grace Doane. FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours will be Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 890 Main Street, Dalton, MA. Service immediately following calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Renal Dialysis Unit at Berkshire Medical Center or Elder Services of Berkshire County in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA with 'Katharine Wunder' in the memo.
