Leroy Jacques, Jr.
1944 - 2014 PITTSFIELD Leroy F. Jacques, Jr., 69, of 61 Taconic Street, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center. Born on March 5, 1944, in Pittsfield, a son of the late Leroy F. Jacques, Sr. and Lillian R. Londergan Jacques, he attended schools in Pittsfield and was a 1961 graduate of Pittsfield High School. He had served honorably in the US Army and had served in the Naval Reserve Seabees. At the time of his death, he was a courtesy van driver at Kimball Farms in Lenox for the past two years. He also worked as a driver at EPOCH at Melbourne Place in Pittsfield for four years. He had been a bus driver for BRTA for 16 years and had worked for the General Electric Company Power Transformer Dept. for 28 years. He enjoyed metal detecting. He is survived by his wife, the former Veronica J. Dickerson, whom he married Nov. 16, 2004; two sons, Leroy F. Jacques, III of Pelion, S.C., and Thomas M. Jacques and his wife, Tamiko Porter Jacques, of Bellingham, and three grandchildren, Kamori Porter Jacques, and Donna and Sonya Jacques. He was predeceased by a brother, Patrick Jacques. FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial celebration will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
