Lillian E. Dyson

1921-2012 WORCESTER/DALTON Lillian E. (Chilton) Dyson, 91 of Worcester, recently of Dalton, passed away on January 13, 2013.

Lillian was born in Worcester on March 26, 1921 to the late George and Martha Chilton. Living in South Worcester until 1941, she attended Worcester schools. In 1941, Lillian married Thomas Dyson and moved to Auburn where they made their home together for over 30 years. Lillian was employed in the Worcester area until retirement. In 1983, Lillian and Tom moved to the Massachusetts Berkshires, in part to be closer to ski country where they shared their love for both downhill and cross country skiing and in part to live close to their late daughter, Christine Hughes and her family. Lillian and Tom were married for 56 years at the time of Tom's passing in July of 1997.

Lillian is survived by her son John and his wife Kathleen; son-in-law John (Jack) Hughes of Dalton; her grandchildren, David, Deborah and her husband Jorge, John and his wife Christina, Kathleen and her partner Kent, and Cheryl and her husband Henry (Hank); her great-grandchildren, Dario and Elizabeth Christine; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter Christine, and her brothers Joseph and Walter.

Funeral arrangements were privately held at the Callahan & Fay Brothers Funeral Home in Worcester on January 17. Rev. Nancy Strong of St. Matthew's Church presided over the ceremony.
