Lucia "Lucy" Fresia

LANESBOROUGH Lucia A. "Lucy" Fresia, age 97, of 60 Meadow Lane, Lanesborough, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility. She was the daughter of Phillip V. and Caroline (Torrero) Fresia. She had been employed as a bookkeeper for O'Connell Auto and Shapiro Motors and later as a secretary at General Electric Co. until her retirement. Lucy was an excellent knitter and loved to travel, visiting Mexico and many countries in Europe. She was a Communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire and for many years she was an active parishioner in the former St. Francis Parish where she taught C.C.D. and was secretary of the Rosary Society.

She is survived by her sister, Eva F. Douillet, with whom she resided prior to admittance to Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Phillip R. Fresia.

Lucy will be remembered as a devoted daughter and sister and a loving aunt.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Lucia A. "Lucy" Fresia will be celebrated Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at 10 A.M. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire, with the Rev. Wayne C. Biernat, pastor of Saints Patrick and Raphael Parish, officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Pittsfield MA. There are no calling hours as per Lucy's request.
